This Saturday November 1, 2008 a few interesting match ups will happen on the same night but on different channels. Live from Las Vegas,Nevada at the Mandalay Bay resort and casino, Filipino American Flyweight Champion Nonito Donaire will defend his IBF/IBO flyweight titles against South African Moruti Mthalane on the undercard of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Matt Vanda Rematch PPV and on Showtime a Super Flyweight unification battle between the highly touted technician WBC/WBA superflyweight chamipion Christian Mijares and the IBF champion Vic Darchinyan will take place at HomeDepot Center in Carson,California. The fight many fans want to see is a Nonito Donaire vs Christian Mijares megafight at superflyweight, Donaire became champion by knocking out the undefeated and dangerous Vic Darchinyan who happens to be Mijares opponent on November 1st. Vic Darchinyan is a brash character who fights with a bit of cocky bravado and he loves to go for the knockout. Darchinyan is confident he can finish the slick boxer Mijares who has never been stopped before and that he can avenge his loss to Donaire in a rematch. Now if Donaire gets past his mandatory I would love to watch him against either Mijares or Darchinyan in a rematch.
my predictions:
Nonito Donaire by Unanimous Decision – I have yet to see Mthalane Box but I will have to go with Nonito Donaire by Unanimous Decision we will see how the long lay off of Donaire affects him.
Mijares by Unanimous Decision – Mijares will use his reach and movement to pick his shots and out smart the raw and reckless Armenian slugger.
