Amir Khan steamrolls Salita and KO’s him in the 1st round

December 5, 2009 By NB News 1 Comment

The WBA 140 pound junior welterweight champion Amir Khan from Bolton, England  knockouts Dmitriy Salita in the first round of their 12 round title bout.

The first defence of the 22 year old Khan’s WBA title came in a flash.  As the bell rung Amir already on his toes threw a 1-2 punch combo that dropped Salita and had him on wobbly legs.

After Salita beat the count, Amir went in with a killer instinct only rivaled by his stable mate Manny Pacquiao and dropped Salita again in the corner as Khan unloaded more blazing combos.

Salita manged to get up again but the end came as Salita fell for the 3rd time and the referee called the fight off

In the post fight interview Khan and Freddie Roach expressed their interest on fighting in the United States next against any 140 pounder.
