Paul “The Punisher” Williams (38-1, 27 KOs) vs. Kermit “The Killer” Cintron (32-2-1, 28 KOs) is a battle between two action packed former welterweight champions who are now campaigning at the 154-pound Jr. middleweight division.
Williams and Cintron share similar opponents, both fought current middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and banned welterweight Antonio Margarito. Paul Williams defeated Martinez by decision in an action packed fight. Kermit Cintron had a controversial draw against Martinez, Cintron was knocked down but claimed it was by a head butt and not a punch, two judges scored the fight 113-113 and the 3rd judge scored it 116-110 in favor of Sergio Martinez.
Paul Williams beat Antonio Margarito by decision while Cintron’s only two defeats are knockout losses to Antonio Margarito.
Paul Williams was called by many in boxing “the most feared man” in the sport, having to vacate the welterweight division because nobody in the division was willing to face the 6 feet 2 welterweight. Williams and his trainer George Peterson claimed they can make the 147-pound weight limit easy and are willing to face the two top draws in boxing, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. anytime.
