The final World Extreme Cagefighting event WEC 53 takes place tonight December 16, 2010 at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona at 6pm PT / 9pm ET Live on Versus.
WEC 53 features two championship title fights; Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will defend his title against top contender Scott Jorgensen and the Lightweight champion Benson Henderson will defend his WEC title for the last time against “Showtime” Anthony Pettis.
The winner of Cruz vs. Jorgenson will be the new UFC 135-pound Bantamweight champion and the winner of Henderson vs. Pettis will get an immediate title shot against the winner of Frankie Edgar (Champ) vs. Gray Maynard at UFC 125: Resolution.
This is the first event for Zuffa in Arizona and the last WEC event before the upcoming WEC and UFC merger.

Lightweight bout: Donald Cerrone vs. Chris Horodecki
Bantamweight Championship bout: Dominick Cruz (Champ) vs. Scott Jorgensen
