HBO will replay Saturday’s Boxing After Dark double header Nonito Donaire vs. Toshiaki Nishioka and Brandon Rios vs. Mike Alvarado on Sunday, October 14 at 6:30 AM ET/PT on HBO.
Fight fans can relive the exciting fight of the year candidate Brandon Rios vs. Mike Alvarado, two warriors going toe to toe in a phone booth for several rounds, and finishing in a TKO stoppage with Rios hand raised.
The main event between Japans Toshiaki Nishioka and Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire was a more tactical battle between the top two super bantamweights in the world, the fight was more slow paced due to the cautious nature of Nishioka trying to avoid the powerful left hook of Donaire only to feel the power of Nonito’s right straight which knocked Nishioka down in the ninth round and had him badly hurt forcing Nishioka’s corner to throw in the towel.
