Boxing comes to Monaco on March 30th, when South African promoter Rodney Berman stages the “Monte Carlo Million Dollar Super Four” tournament from the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco.
The main event of the Monte Carlo boxing event is headlined by undefeated WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan putting his title on the line against former champion Nobuhiro Ishida of Japan.
Golovkin is considered by many boxing writers as the boxer to look out for in 2013, he is a member of the 2004 Olympic boxing class and won the silver medal for Kazakhstan. Ishida is a tough journeyman boxer from Japan, and is best known for his shocking first round knockout win of American boxer James Kirkland, but is coming off back to back losses against Paul Williams and Dmitry Pirog and just like the Kirkland bout he is a huge underdog going into his fight with Golovkin fight.
Undefeated middleweight boxers Edwin Rodriguez and Argentinean Olympian Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna will square off, and undefeated former two time champ Zsolt Erdei fights Denis Grachev.
