The UFC returns to Sweden with UFC on Fuel TV 9: Gegard Mousasi vs. Ilir Latifi at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, April 6.
The main event features the debut of top light heavyweight mixed martial artist and former Dream and Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi as he takes on a fellow newcomer Sweden’s own Ilir Latifi.
The original main event was supposed to pit Mousasi against Alexander Gustafsson but on April 2nd just a few days before the event Gustafsson was not cleared to fight due to a cut he received during sparring, so Ilir Latifi stepped in as a late replacement to help salvage the main event, the bout will be three rounds instead of five.
British favorite Brad Pickett, exciting Brazilian fighter Diego Brandao, Sweden’s Akira Corassani, Randy Couture’s son, Randy Couture makes his octagon debut against Ross Pearson, and former NFL player and TUF alum Matt Mitrione faces Phil De Fries in a heavyweight bout.
