LIDDELL RELIVES EPIC FIGHTS ON UFC TONIGHT SPECIAL EDITION

July 16, 2013 By NB News

LOS ANGELES, CA – On this week’s UFC TONIGHT SPECIAL EDITION: CHUCK LIDDELL’S FIGHTER’S CUT, the former light heavyweight champion relives three key fights of his Hall of Fame career. First, Liddell recalls his knockout of Renato “Babalu” Sobral at UFC 40, and then talks through his first victory over Tito Ortiz at UFC 47.

The show continues with Liddell talking through his title shot against Randy Couture at UFC 52. “[Randy] made a comment that he didn’t know how hard I hit and I didn’t hit harder than Tito because I never hit him [in the first fight], so I was excited to make him feel that punch.” In the first round of the fight, Liddell does just that and is the first to ever knockout Couture, winning the championship belt in the process.

This week on UFC ULTIMATE INSIDER, take an all-access look back at the historic night of action at UFC 162 through our cinematic lenses. From the event’s memorable weigh-in, through the blockbuster preliminary bouts and to Chris Weidman’s breathtaking victory over Anderson Silva – witness the best moments from the event as never seen before.

As the new head trainer of Sacramento’s Team Alpha Male, retired UFC welterweight Duane Ludwig has taken successful UFC fighters like Urijah Faber, Joseph Benavidez, Chad Mendes and TJ Dillashaw to the next level. Go inside their training camp for a firsthand look at his coaching methods and how the team is responding. Then, Rory MacDonald has been fighting professionally since he was 16, affording the MMA prodigy and rising welterweight superstar wisdom well beyond his years. In his own words he describes the martial arts spirit that drives him as he prepares for Jake Ellenberger at FOX UFC Saturday on July 27.
