Carl Froch vs. George Groves II is the most anticipated boxing match in recent UK history and will take place at the amazing Wembley outdoor stadium in London, England on May 31, and it will be shown live on SkySports and promoted by Matchroom boxing.
The first meeting between the two combatants was an all out war of attrition. Froch was the champion heading into the fight but had an early scare after receiving a vicious first round knock down. Groves showed that he had the power to hurt the iron chinned Froch, but later in the fight he had stamina issues and the tides changed in Froch’s favor as he slowly broke the eager young challenger down, getting a TKO stoppage in the ninth round.
The stoppage was controversial and is the reason we have a rematch, it is a true pick’em fight with either man being capable of winning.
