The Canelo Alvarez vs. Amir Khan May 7th Pay-Per-View is over, and it delivered one of the years most intriguing big man versus little man match ups that ended with a bang.
Canelo defended his WBC middleweight belt against the scrappy British boxer at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event was packed with adoring fans mainly rooting for Canelo but a sizable amount for Khan were in attendance.
The bout was promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, and broadcast by HBO in the United States.
Canelo-Khan brought the drama, what was initially seen as a mismatch had people believing early that Khan might pull off the perfect fight, the speed of Khan was befuddling Canelo for a few rounds, but Canelo adjusted to the speed in the sixth round and caught Khan right on the chin. It was a highlight real KO for the ages and it was the ending that boxing experts pretty much predicted would happen once Canelo lands flush on the jaw of Khan.
