On the eve of the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight, Filipino bantamweight boxer Z “The Dream” Gorres collapsed moments after winning his 10 round decision over Luis Melendez on Nov. 13,2009 at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay.
Gorres was rushed directly to UMC (University Medical Center) Hospital in Las Vegas after suffering an apparent subdural hematoma on the left side of his brain. He was put into a medically induced coma and is undergoing surgery to reduce swelling from the brain. He has been placed under critical condition status.
