The current WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero of Venezuela defended his title against Mexican boxer Hector Velazquez on Saturday Dec. 19, 2010 in front of a pro Valero crowd at the Polideportivo Jose Maria Vargas in La Guaira, Caracas, Venezuela .
This fight was not shown on American television but on Febuary 6, American fans of Edwin Valero will be able to catch him in action on SHOWTIME when he takes on mandatory challenger Antonio Demarco. The cable network will broadcast the bout live from Mexico.
Valero won the vacant WBC title from Antonio Pitalua after Manny Pacquiao vacated the title to face Oscar De La Hoya at welterweight and Ricky Hatton at light welterweight.
