Pacquiao #72, Mayweather Jr. #91 on “Power 100” list

January 27, 2010 By NB News Leave a Comment

Bloomberg’s Business Week released their annual “Power 100” list of 100 most powerful athletes in 2010 and boxers made the list, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley.

The list seems mainly focused on North American power rankings instead of international appeal.

It is surprising to see that Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao ranks higher at #72 than American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. #91 who also claims to be the bigger draw in the boxing world and Mosley at #93.

Pacquiao earned $39 Million in 2009 while Mayweather Jr. earned $30.3 million in 2009.

Two mixed martial artists also made the list, Russian MMA heavyweight star Fedor Emelianenko #82 and UFC heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar #96.

Both Fedor and Brock Lesnar’s earnings are unavailable on the list.

The list is topped by Tiger Woods at #1, Woods made $103 million in 2009.
