Pacquiao and Mayweather – One Fan’s Opinion

I give props to any man who steps into the ring and fights putting his life on the line but as a fan of boxing I am entitled to my opinion.

I am sick of people talking trash about Floyd Mayweather Jr., the man has fought the best and cleaned out the 130 and 135 lbs weight classes. Pacquiao has never done such a thing, all Pacquiao did was fight washed up guys and hand picked champions on his way up while avoiding guys like Nate Campbell, Juan Diaz, Juan Manuel Marquez in a third fight and Timothy Bradley to just name a few.

Pacquiao is overrated. He has never cleaned out a division and he has been spoiled with his opposition and catch weight terms.

Now he is taking on Joshua Clottey while Floyd Mayweather Jr. is fighting a real fight against Sugar Shane Mosley. Tell me who is taking the more meaningful fight?

I am still pained to see my Puerto Rican countrymen Miguel Cotto suffer unfair losses to the hands of two questionable boxers, Antonio Margarito and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Antonio Margarito cheated by loading his gloves against Shane Mosley and got banned for it, and now Manny Pacquiao has been accused of steroids by several boxers including Floyd Mayweather, Kermit Cintron and Paulie Malignaggi.

I hope someday Cotto gets justice, he has suffered so much in his life and I really wish him the best and hope when he fights Yuri Foreman he wins that WBA 154 lb title and shows that the fight against Pacquiao was just a fluke and he wasn’t 100 percent.

If Floyd fought Oscar De La Hoya at 154 lbs then Pacquiao should man up, but he already admitted he was scared to fight Yuri Foreman because he was too big for him so he chose Joshua Clottey instead.

Pacquiao put Cotto under a catchweight clause and those 2 pounds he had to lose to make 145 lbs were too much on the body and it showed in the fight, Cotto’s gas tank was empty and he was weakened.  Cotto fighting at 154 lbs will make him stronger and more fresh, and hopefully Pacquiao gives him a rematch at light middleweight if Pacman’s trainer Freddie Roach allows him to.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.  gets unfairly treated by the media and haters. Mayweather Jr. has been nothing but a gentleman and class act inside the ring and outside. He is just happy to have money and when you had nothing, you are going to flaunt it, let the man enjoy his lavish things and stop being jealous and envious of his success.

Floyd earned his money the honest way and put his blood, sweat and tears into his career. Mayweather never stole cigarettes or donuts and resold them on the street, he also never took drugs and doesn’t smoke or drink he is a positive role model and lives a healthy lifestyle.

It is no secret and obvious that the hate Floyd Mayweather Jr. receives is from people who are bitter and jealous of his wealth and success. People hate seeing a man brag about his cash and cars and mansion.  People should stop being sour and work hard and be the best at what they do, instead of getting mad at guys like Mayweather who are confident and wealthy.

Real boxing fans will enjoy, respect and acknowledge a true talent like Mayweather Jr. and not bring up his personality into the equation, who cares about his personality put your jealous aside and judge him for his boxing skills not because you hate him for having money and confidence.
