U.S. Olympian Sadam “World Kid” Ali Ready to go Saturday night in Newark

February 3, 2010 By NB News Leave a Comment

BROOKLYN (Feb. 2, 2010) – 2008 U.S. Olympian Sadam “World Kid” Ali recently completed a strong training camp and now he’s ready to go Saturday night against fellow Brooklyn welterweight Jason Thompson in Newark, New Jersey.

Ali puts his perfect pro record (4-0, 2 KOs) on the line versus Thompson (5-4-1, 4 KOs) in a 4-round bout on Saturday night’s “Heavy Artillery” card, headlined by Tomasz Adamek and Jason Estrada, at the Prudential Center.

“Everything was good leading up to this fight,” the 21-year-old Ali said. “I had good sparring that got me ready to go. I never underestimate anybody. As a boxer, anybody who has the heart and guts to get into the ring with me, I respect.”

Ali was the first Arab-American member of the U.S. Olympic Team, as well as the first New York City based member of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team in 20 years.
