AP obtained exclusive video of former boxing champion Edwin Valero being taken into custody by Venezuelan police after confessing to the murder of his wife Jennifer Carolina Viera de Valero in a Venezuelan hotel room on Sunday.
Edwin Valero who proudly sports a tattoo of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez on his chest is a rising boxing star being groomed as the next Manny Pacquiao and possible opponent for pound-for-pound boxing champion.
Valero is a devastating knockout artist with an undefeated record of (27-0, 27 KOs) and a violent temperament outside of the ring.
He was barred from boxing in California and Nevada while he was signed under Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy promotions over a head injury he suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Top Rank promotions was able to sign up the power puncher and get him fights including a WBC lightweight title fight in Texas against Antonio Pitalua where he won the vacant belt by knockout.
