HBO’s Bradley vs. Maidana fight is OFF

May 3, 2010 By NB News Leave a Comment

WBO Junior-Welterweight champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley’s HBO boxing debut has now hit a stumbling block.

Bradley’s promoter Gary Shaw said the July 17 HBO fight with Argentinean boxer Marcos Rene Maidana which was to be held at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage, California is now off.

Eric Gomez, Golden Boy Promotions Matchmaker,  told Gary Shaw that Marcos Maidana missed his flight to the United States for Tuesday’s press conference and that Maidana was still complaining of back injury problems, preventing him from fighting Bradley on July 17.

The July 17 Television slot is still open for Timothy Bradley; HBO and Gary Shaw are currently looking for a replacement opponent for Bradley’s HBO boxing debut.
