Roach reveals blood testing and original negotiation between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather

This video was originally posted on January 20, 2010. Freddie reveals to the reporters about the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather negotiation debacle. There was that supposed demand Floyd asking for a 14 day cut off date instead of 24 days for which Manny Pacquiao was willing to do. But Freddie Roach reveals Manny Pacquiao and his team were the ones who were willing to go 14 day cut off but Floyd Mayweather declined. It doesn’t surprise The Superstar since Floyd lies so much, you can never tell when he ever tells the truth. Remember that video in which he was said he will retire for 2 years to focus on his gym and his foundation? Armando Carral the teen who has cancer, made a wish for Floyd to fight Manny Pacquiao. Floyd said he wasn’t going to fight Manny this year and will be taking a couple of years off and away from boxing. Well, if Floyd was dead serious on retiring, he would have made his formal announcement by now. So was he lying or really retiring? Either way Floyd is confusing everybody including Armando Carral.

Freddie Roach makes an interesting point about boxers and their phobias. For example, many boxers do not have sex while in training or even before a fight. Even though their is no medical evidence having sex makes the fighter weaker physically, however there is a psychological phobia that exist. Many fighters feel having sex during training or before a fight will have an adverse affect on their performance. We all have heard trainers saying to their boxers, “no sex while in training especially before a fight.” Or “stay away from broads, broads makes weak knees.” This phobia or you might even say “superstition” has been in boxing for years and years. So what does that have to do with Manny and his fear of giving blood so close to the fight? Everything! Manny Pacquiao has already experienced giving blood just before a fight and felt weak with his fight against Erik Morales, the fight which Manny Pacquiao lost. Many have said it is a simple blood test but forget it is still real to the fighter. You are not Manny Pacquiao. Psychological wellness is just as important as the physical wellness to a boxer. There are people who faint at sight of blood. There are people of different culture who do not like to get their pictures taken. They believe it removes their soul. We all know it doesn’t but to those people it is real to them and we must respect it.

There are other things revealed in this video, even about fighting Paul Williams. Freddie Roach said Manny will fight Paul but he must come down at 147 lbs but Paul wouldn’t. But of course, we have heard Paul Williams is willing to go down to 147 lbs. So we will see. Also Freddie Roach said Manny has no problems fighting Paul Williams because he likes challenges. Watch the whole video it is very enlightening on this whole drug testing matter.
