Kelly Pavlik pulls out of Pacquiao card due to injured rib

November 1, 2010 By NB News Leave a Comment

The fighting pride of Youngstown, Ohio was forced to pull out of his co-main event spot on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito fight in Texas on November 13, because he suffered an injury to his rib during the final stages of his training camp.

Pavlik, 28, was supposed to fight Brian Vera at Cowboys Stadium at a catchweight of 164-pounds.

Pavlik’s last fight was in April of 2010 when he lost his middleweight championship to Argentinean fighter Sergio Martinez.

Despite this setback, there is still a possible super-fight on the table for Kelly Pavlik later in March or April on HBO, against the IBF super-middleweight champion, Lucian Bute of Canada.
