If Manny Pacquiao Fights Mosley, I Won’t Be Surprised If It’s At Catchweight

The word is Manny Pacquiao has already chosen his next victim. I say victim because anyone who fights Manny Pacquiao next will be entering the ring a dead man walking.

The probable victims are old ass Sugar Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and WBC welterweight champ Andre Berto.

Automatically cross Andre Berto off the list. Berto is too dangerous, undefeated, young, strong and has power and speed, he doesn’t qualify for Bob Arum, Freddie Roach or Manny.

Next opponent to cross off the list is Juan Manuel Marquez. Juan Manuel in the eyes of many ringside boxing analysts beat Manny Pacquiao twice in both of their bouts, but was robbed. Pacquiao has since avoided the tough Mexican fighter, and Freddie Roach has said in the past that Marquez has the style to give Manny problems. So he doesn’t qualify.

The next victim is none other than Sugar Shane Mosley. Let’s go over the criteria: Mosley is an African-American boxer, so Bob Arum will use that to silence the critics who say Manny never fought an African-American fighter; Mosley is the biggest name of the other fighters so casual American boxing fans will tune in; Mosley is 40-years-old past his prime and shot, and Mosley is willing to drain himself to a catchweight just to fight Pacquiao.

Shane Mosley will probably fight Manny Pacquiao on May 7, 2011 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas at a catchweight of 145-pounds for the WBO welterweight and WBC junior-middleweight belts that Pacquiao holds, it will be a two-division catchweight bout.

Manny Pacquiao will go down in history as the greatest catchweight fighter who ever lived.
