Are Arum and Pacquiao Ducking Mayweather by Going to Showtime?

Bob Arum and Manny Pacquiao left HBO and went over to Showtime/CBS to duck and dodge Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. the pound-for-pound best in boxing today.

Bob Arum said he moved to Showtime because HBO wasn’t taking advantage of TNT and TBS advertising for help to build up fights on HBO, but I don’t buy into Arum’s reasoning for the move, CBS ain’t gonna do much for the Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley fight in terms of ratings or pay per view buys. Showtime pay per view is not going to outdo a HBO pay per view in terms of buys. The fact that this Pacquiao-Mosley fight is on Showtime will lower the buys rather than increase them because HBO is still king when it comes to putting boxing fights on.

The real reasons why Bob Arum went to CBS/Showtime is because HBO wasn’t gonna take any more BS fights, and Ricardo Mayorga vs. Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley are BS fights that nobody wants to see. The only type of people who are gonna enjoy those fights are the ones who don’t enjoy the sweet science and just wanna watch someone get their faces smashed in. Brawling isn’t something the real boxing fans consider skill only casual fans enjoy that stuff. The other reason Arum and Pacquiao’s camp went to Showtime is because they are feeling the pressure put on them by HBO to get the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight done and they don’t want to fight Mayweather because he would beat Pacquiao easily.

HBO made it clear they want Pacquiao vs. Mayweather to happen but Bob Arum lied and never reached out to Mayweather Jr. to make that fight instead he rushed to make a fight with Sugar Shane Mosley only weeks after Pacquiao fought Antonio Margarito. Floyd Mayweather Jr. just recently came out in an interview by FightHype.com saying Pacquiao’s camp never reached out to him after the Antonio Margarito fight. During the first negotiations Floyd gave Manny every request he wanted from ring size, glove size, $10 million fine for every pound Floyd went over the 147-pound limit at weigh-ins, and a 50-50 purse split, he gave Manny Pacquiao everything and Manny didn’t give Floyd the only request he wanted, which was random drug testing for both fighters to prove that they are clean and free of steroids.

What Arum is trying to do is milk his cash cow by putting him in against the right opponents and ducking real threats like Floyd Mayweather Jr..

If you can’t see this, than you are just a blatant Manny Pacquiao fan and dislike Floyd Mayweather Jr.. But those who are looking at this situation with unbiased eyes can see who the real ducker is here, Manny Pacquiao don’t want it with Floyd.
