That’s what boxing fans who keep calling to boycott Manny Pacquiao’s fights should say after witnessing a timid fight between Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander on Saturday night.
So many of you “Elitist” boxing snobs like to complain and moan about Manny Pacquiao as if it’s a cool thing to do, to make you seem better than the casual fans or mainstream by going against the grain, but I don’t care if Bradley and Alexander was a match you guys wanted to see, I knew it was going be boring and tactical. I give Bradley props for being the aggressor and winning the fight, but it was boring.
Fight fans want a good scrap, they want two fighters who will give it their all in the ring and go out guns blazing. Bradley and Alexander were two young guns on the rise but neither one of them fought like someone who was hungry and out to make a statement. Devon Alexander quit in the fight because of a cut over his eye!!! Come on man, these younger fighters aren’t cut from the same cloth as guys like Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Diego Corrales, Arturo Gatti, Ricky Hatton these men wouldn’t quit over a cut.
If you wanna be a boxing star, make a name for yourself by being a WARRIOR. So many of these young fighters wanna call out Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr. just for a payday, but they don’t want to earn their stripes. You earn your stripes and draw a fanbase by doing it the old fashioned way by blitzing your opponents and dominating them in crowd pleasing fashion.
How do you think Manny Pacquiao or Mike Tyson got so famous? Because they came to fight and wanted to prove their dominance in the ring by destroying their opposition even if it means them getting knocked out or losing in the process.
When you have a guy like Manny Pacquiao out there, he is a throwback fighter that EVERY SINGLE FIGHT FAN SHOULD SUPPORT! Yes, Every single fight fan. Why are you idiots calling to boycott Pacquiao’s fights when this man is single-handedly bringing boxing back in America, name a time he has never gave his all in the ring to please his fans? You CAN’T!
Who gives a crap if Shane Mosley is 40 years old, the man comes to fight no matter what, and that’s what I pay to see and that’s what will bring boxing back to the mainstream — Action packed fights.
Boxing needs excitement to bring it back, and any time The Pacman Manny Pacquiao fights he brings it all, and all these boxing snobs and Pacman haters who keep saying Manny fights leftovers or washed up fighters need to shut their mouths. Stop crying and enjoy a good scrap, look at the fight you wanted to see Bradley-Alexander and said was a better match than Pacquiao vs. Margarito, it wound up a boring fight with two cautious fighters doing more damage with their heads than with their fists.
If you want your moneys worth you can’t go wrong with either Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga or Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley on SHOWTIME pay per view. I guarantee both fights will be a lot more exciting than last nights.
