Manny Pacquiao hasn’t faced a puncher like Shane Mosley

If you go through the list of Manny Pacquiao opponents he has never fought someone with dynamite punching power and handspeed like Sugar Shane Mosley.

A lot of people focus on Manny not fighting slick boxers, which is true, but he also never fought a crushing puncher like Sugar Shane Mosley.

Mosley has the type of punching power that can put guys out cold and if you are smaller than him like Manny Pacquiao is the more you will feel those heavy shots. Mosley had won almost all of his lightweight fights by knockout and was one of the most feared punchers in the sport.

Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter, but don’t be fooled by his chin, his chin isn’t all that great. Manny has been dropped several times in his career and knocked out before. He has also admitted after each fight from 130-150-pounds that he has felt his opponents punching power and was hurt by them, but his willpower helped him continue through the pain. Manny pretends not to be hurt because he knows the moment he shows weakness in the ring his opponent will go for the knockout.

Watch Manny Pacquiao vs. Nedal Hussein (Video of Manny being knocked down with a jab, this punch left Manny literally cross eyed after this punch) when Manny gets up he doesn’t clinch.

If Shane Mosley hurts Manny or drops him the fight will be over because Mosley doesn’t show any mercy when he has a guy hurt he will try to destroy you, look what he did to Antonio Margarito, he hit Margarito like he stole something from him.

The only way that Manny can survive a knockdown or from being wobbled early is if he clinches like Floyd Mayweather did against Mosley in the second round and is able to get Mosley to swing and miss causing himself to gas out. The problem is when Manny is hurt he doesn’t know how to defend himself or clinch, he fights back and leaves himself wide open for counters.

When you fight someone like Shane Mosley you need to have great boxing skills and even better defensive skills. You will never ever beat Shane Mosley in an exchange, that is where Mosley shines. The only people who beats Mosley have been technical boxers. People can say that Manny Pacquiao gets the better of opponents when they try to trade with him but he won’t get the better of Mosley in exchanges because no one Pacquiao faced has the combination of handspeed and power that Mosley has.

Manny has to really fight the perfect fight to beat Mosley by decision, and I don’t see it happening because Manny is a fighter and when he gets hurt he tries to swing back, but his power won’t be enough to gain the iron chinned Mosley’s respect.

Look for Shane Mosley to pull off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history should he stop Manny Pacquiao by knockout. This will be an awesome fight.
