My Problem With Manny Pacquiao

You know what my problem is with the PACMAN Manny Pacquiao… He challenges my favorite fighter, Miguel Cotto for his belt and then tells him he will only fight him if its at 145 pounds and the championship belt is on the line.

When Cotto says no, the belt organizers or whatever you wanna call them tell the CHAMPION COTTO you fight on PACMAN’s (the challenger) catchweight terms or we will strip you of your belt.

Now they forced Miguel Cotto into fighting at a handicap cause they knew that if Manny Pacquiao could beat a weight drained Cotto they could make even larger amounts of money with him collecting belts and then with the finally fighting Floyd Mayweather.

People who don’t know about cutting weight don’t realize when you cut 20+ pounds to make weight its the last few pounds that are the hardest to lose and the pounds the take the most out of your body… I wrestled for 8 years and boxed for 11, I had to cut a lot of weight in my years and it does take its toll. Manny Pacquiao didn’t deserve fighting for or winning the 147 pound belt because the fight was not held at 147 and the 154.

Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito had no business fighting for the 154 pound belt that was a joke setup to hype Manny even more for Mayweather. The fight was held at 150 lbs for a 154 pound belt and Manny never fought at 154 and Margarito had 1 fight I believe at that weigh. Boxing, Bob Arum and HBO were feeding Manny easy setups to keep winning belts now like they planned everyone want to see MANNY VS MAYWEATHER and they both have one belt in at least 7 weights. They built MANNY’s accomplishments up to Mayweather’s to hype this fight… Now if the fight ever does happen it wont be as exciting as everyone thinks. One man will move forward and press the fight while the other spends the whole fight on his heals back peddling.

Just another word of thought… If Antonio Margarito would have never used plaster in his handwraps to beat Miguel Cotto do you honestly think that Manny Pacquiao would be the one everyone would be talking about? No, Cotto would have never been forced to fight Pacquiao at 145 because he would have been undefeated and no one in the BOXING organization would wanna risk him losing that fighting at 145.

It would be Cotto vs Mayweather everyone wants to see. If Cotto was to have beat Margarito his head would be on straight and he would still be the fighter he was and would have BEAT MANNY PACQUIAO and Freddie Roach knows that, that’s why he jumped on Cotto so soon after the Margarito fight. I’m happy to see we will be watching Cotto vs Margarito II. Cotto needs this to clear his head of the demons.

I believe Cotto will will win this now that he has a real trainer Emmanuel Steward and when it’s said and done we will have the other Miguel Cotto back and the fire will be back in his eyes and the boxing world better watch out because he is what every sport needs and every fan wants. A man who respects himself, his opponent, and the sport its self. He never backs down from a fight and when he is in the ring you know you are about to see the kind of fight that made you fall in love with the sport to begin with. He is an athlete, a gladiator, and a champion and in the ring, his arena, he is always prepared for battle to come out victorious and to please us — his fans– who chant his name… COTTO… COTTO… COTTO… He is our CHAMPION!
