Fearless – Free from fear : brave

Those who are willing to take tough challenges are often described as fearless. Manny Pacquiao is the embodiment of fearless.

Fearless Manny Pacquiao

The Pacman’s style of fight is what many described as fearless. Willing to exchange punches without the fear of getting hit back. Another description of Manny Pacquiao’s fearlessness, is the willing to take on larger opponents. On November 14 2010, Manny Pacquiao took on a significantly larger opponent Antonio Margarito. By the night of the fight, Manny was only 148 lbs while Antonio Margarito was 165 lbs. The height difference was even more noticeable when 5’6 1/2 Manny Pacquiao stood next too 5’11 1/2 Antonio Margarito in the middle of the ring. Basically that night, it was a welterweight going against a super middleweight. At the end of the fight, the significantly smaller fighter Manny Pacquiao won a clear unanimous lopsided win and also sending his larger opponent to the hospital requiring surgery to repair his orbital bone. The combination of taking on larger opponents and a fighting style that is willing to exchange blows, is why many describe Manny as fearless. Never one to duck larger and tough opponents in his weight division.

On the contrary, Floyd Mayweather Jr  has been the embodiment of a fearful fighter. Floyd Mayweather has made it known to everyone, he believes Manny Pacquiao is taking performance enhancement drugs. Despite Manny Pacquiao has never failed a drug test. Or any evidence to suggest Manny has taken PEDs, Steroids, or some mythical drug like A Side Meth. Floyd has clearly voiced his fear Manny is on PEDs and because of that he is demanding Manny Pacquiao go through Olympic Style Drug Testing. According to Floyd, “all I want is an even playing field”. Which totally suggest without a doubt, Floyd is fearful Manny is on PEDs by suggesting the field is not level. Floyd Mayweather has never demanded any previous fights an invasive test like Olympic Style Drug Testing besides Shane Mosley who has admitted taking anabolic steroids. Another sign Floyd Mayweather is so fearful of Manny Pacquiao, the way Manny Pacquiao has defeated his opponents in such a devastating fashion. Ricky Hatton was put into a temporary coma. Both Miguel Cotto and Margarito ended up in the hospital. But the biggest fear Floyd has is the loss of his zero. The loss of his precious zero will mark the end of his endless bragging of being undefeated. Floyd is more fearful losing his zero than Manny’s devastating power. The idea of Floyd losing his undefeated streak, truly frightens him to a point he will make offensive remarks and discredit Manny’s accomplishments in and out of boxing.
