Juan Manuel Marquez is done, he is cherry picking fighters like the burned out, Juan Diaz, who lost 5 of his last 6 fights. Diaz lost to Nate Campbell on 3/8/2008, beat Michael Katsidis on 9/6/2008, lost to Marquez on 2/28/2009, lost to Paul Malignaggi on 8/22/2009 but got a gift win, lost to Malignaggi on the rematch on 12/12/2009, and then lost to Marquez again on 7/31/2010. And Marquez fought and beat the only fighter that Juan Diaz beat in his last 6 fights, Michael Katsidis.
Brandon Rios called out Juan Manuel Marquez, no answer. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is calling Marquez out, no answer. LMAO! Even the remains of Erik Morales was calling Marquez out.
Marquez was making his case as deserving a third fight against Manny Pacquiao base on his last two fight against, guess who? No other than the burned out Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis.
Marquez’s fans are trying to make boxing into a charity. Boxing is not a charity, it’s a business. Marquez’s fans are saying that Marquez should not be taking on fighters like Brandon Rios at this stage of his career. WHAT?? If Marquez can’t beat the top challengers at his own division, then why does he deserve a fight against the P4P king in Manny Pacquiao?
Just because Marquez is about to retire does not entitle him to cut to the front of the line to fight Pacquiao. Besides, Marquez has already had two tries at Pacquiao. There are more deserving fighters that did not even have one chance against Manny Pacquiao.
Here is what you’ll hear if Pacquiao grants Marquez a third fight and beats him. Pacquiao fought another old opponent. Pacquiao fought a smaller opponent. Pacquiao did not prove anything. Marquez was too old. Marquez was washed up.
So what would Pacquiao gain by fighting Marquez?
Marquez needs to make himself more marketable by beating a legitimate foe like Brandon Rios, not by beating a burned out fighter like Juan Diaz. Marquez must exhibit and prove that he is not old, that he is not washed up, and that he will give Pacquiao a formidable fight by beating a legitimate Champion like Brandon Rios or even Tim Bradley. A win over Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis is not proof that Marquez can beat a formidable opponent for a Pacquiao fight.
Otherwise, Pacquiao will be roasted for beating an old and washed up Marquez if they fought a third time.
IF MARQUEZ BEATS BRANDON RIOS, THEN HE CAN WEAR A T-SHIRT THAT SAYS, “I’M NOW READY FOR A 3RD FIGHT AGAINST PACQUIAO.”
