Vitali Klitschko Joins Mayweather and Pacquiao Among Boxing’s Top Earners

March 20, 2011 By NB News 4 Comments

Vitali Klitschko barely broke a sweat during his heavyweight title defense on Saturday night against Cuban Olympic gold medalist Odlanier Solis because the fight lasted a mere 3 minutes, but Vitali was paid handsomely for his first round stoppage of Solis.

Solis, who suffered an injured leg in the first round after being rocked by a Klitschko right hand earned $1.8 million US dollars according to a report by Edward Chaykovsky of Boxingscene.com.

The champion Vitali earned a whopping $15 million US Dollars, for just one round of boxing.

Vitali Klitschko is one of the highest paid boxers alongside Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and his younger brother fellow heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko.

Manny Pacquiao could earn more than $15 million for his upcoming May 7 fight with Sugar Shane Mosley, and Wladimir Klitschko could earn a similar purse for his fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, a fight that is considered the most anticipated heavyweight fight since Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis.
