Vitali Klitschko Stops Solis In The First Round

March 19, 2011 By NB News Leave a Comment

The Vitali Klitschko vs. Odlanier Solis WBC heavyweight title fight ended early and left the German fans in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany unsatisfied.

Solis was wobbled by a grazing right hand from Vitali Klitschko toward the end of the first round causing him to lose his footing and it looked like he suffered an apparent knee injury in his right leg because Solis held onto his thigh as he tried to get up off his back, and once he stood up he couldn’t put any weight on the right leg.

Ref Jose Guadalupe Garcia deemed the challenger unable to continue following the knockdown and stopped the fight at 3:00 minutes of round one.
