With All of These Upsets in Boxing is Manny Pacquiao Next?

First, I would like to acknowledge the arrogant Pacquiao hugging blogger, Don Donatello, for going into hiding after he disrespected a Mexican legend like Erik Morales calling him a cripple, well that crippled fighter was able to school Marcos Maidana. Eat Crow buddy.

Anything can happen in boxing especially shocking upsets! And I have a feeling it’s Manny Pacquiao’s turn to get upset! Shane Mosley can’t be counted out, especially after seeing all of the recent upsets in boxing.

Erik Morales showed it against Maidana, he was the huge underdog, and held his own after his eye was closed shut in the first round, I had Morales winning by one point but Maidana got the decision. Morales was a true warrior and even at his age he showed that every great fighter has enough experience to hang with a younger guy.

James Kirkland was on the undercard of Morales vs. Maidana and he was supposed to walk all over his Japanese opponent Nobuhiro Ishida who was considered feather fisted with many losses on his record. Ishida destroyed Kirlkand in the first round knocking him down 3 times before referee Joe Cortez stopped the fight. It was a shock that left everyone in awe.

Next was Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto. Ortiz was counted out and an underdog, everyone called him a quitter and said the undefeated Andre Berto will beat him, Ortiz and Berto went toe to toe and knock down for knockdown, Ortiz pulled of the upset and won the WBC welterweight title.

And Bob Arum’s Top Rank featherweight star Juan Manuel Lopez got stopped by Orlando Salido a fighter who Yuriorkis Gamboa defeated and was supposed to be a easy fight for Lopez, but Lopez got stopped by the rugged Mexican and in the 8th round after taking too many unanswered shots the ref stops the fight, and Salido the huge underdog wins the featherweight title, spoiling the Juan Ma Lopez vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa featherweight superfight every boxing fan was clamoring for.

Now it’s Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Manny Pacquiao. Bob Arum is going to get a rude awakening, just like he was trying to make the boxing fans wait for a Lopez vs. Gamboa fight, he is trying to milk Manny Pacquiao for all he is worth before giving us the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. Arum wants to make the most money he can with Pacquiao and thinks Mosley is washed up and an easy fight for Manny, but I believe Shane Mosley has enough to win.

If Manny Pacquiao loses the blame lies in Bob Arum’s hands. Golden Boy Promotions would have made a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight happen already if they had Pacquiao’s full promotional rights.

Now the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight that could have saved boxing and put it back on the map may never happen because I have this strong gut feeling that the old man Shane Mosley will knockout Manny Pacquiao on May 7th.
