HBO Boxing After Dark presents a middleweight world title fight between Mexico’s Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the former boxing great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., and current WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik of Germany. As a co-feature, rising featherweight star Mikey Garcia will take on Rafael Guzman.
The 25-year-old Chavez Jr. (42-0-1, 30 KOs) and 29-year-old Zbik (30-0, 10 KOs) are both undefeated, but only one man will remain undefeated and walk away with the title. Chavez Jr. is trained by the legendary Freddie Roach who also trains boxing stars Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan, and Roach believes Chavez Jr. has improved since training with him and will win the title and become his next star.
23-year-old featherweight Mikey Garcia (25-0, 21 KOs) who is trained by his brother Robert Garcia will take on Rafael Guzman (28-2, 20 KOs) a late replacement opponent after his original opponent Miguel Beltran Jr. had to pull out of the fight because of an injury.
