Manny Pacquiao Should Step Up And Be His Own Man

The Pacquiao fans and the Mayweather fans can go back and forth all they want saying this fighter is scared of that fighter, but the truth of the matter is, Manny Pacquiao needs to step up and demand a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., that is the only way the fight will happen.

Floyd Mayweather already did his part and called out Manny Pacquiao during his LA presser for his fight with Victor Ortiz, now it’s Pacquiao’s turn to say he wants to fight Mayweather.

I don’t believe Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao or Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. are scared to fight each other. I think the people who handle Manny Pacquiao are the ones scared to to put him against Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao just fights whomever they put in front of him, and lately they have been washed up or over the hill opponents.

The people in charge of Manny Pacquiao do not have confidence in him and might actually believe that he will be defeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. if they fight. They probably feel Floyd will out box Manny easily and they feel once Pacman loses to Floyd that his stock will drop and he could possibly retire and focus on politics for good.

You might ask why would they be scared that Pacquiao retires? Well because the people who promote and manage Manny have no other superstars in their stable that can draw a consistent 1 million pay-per-view buys or more a fight. Losing Manny Pacquiao right now would be a huge blow to their current and future financial earnings.

When you have different people in Manny Pacquiao’s camp giving different stories on the Drug testing negotiations you know something is not right. You have one person saying Manny will not do the drug testing without a 14 or 7 days cutoff. Another person says Pacquiao is scared of needles and will not do the USADA testing but only WADA. Then you have Pacquiao himself saying he doesn’t care he will take the tests just not too close to the fight.

It seems like there are people inside the Pacquiao camp who have their own agendas, I think Pacquiao, Bob Arum, and Freddie Roach are the only ones who need to sit down and come to an agreement, other people in Pacquiao’s camp shouldn’t try to include themselves in these negotiations they are only making things more difficult.

If Floyd Mayweather defeats Victor Ortiz and Manny Pacquiao finally silences Juan Manuel Marquez (which will be no easy task), Pacquiao needs to call out Floyd Mayweather Jr., just like he called out the great Marco Antonio Barrera years ago after his fight with Emmanuel Lucero. No more of this, I leave it up to my promoter stuff, it’s time to step up and be your own man, tell Bob Arum you want Mayweather next.

If Manny really wants to please the boxing fans and says he fights for the fans, then, he must do everything he can to make the fight with Mayweather happen.
