Boxing Fans Speak Out On The Mayweather Vs. Ortiz Fight

September 22, 2011 By NB News 3 Comments

Readers of NowBoxing share their opinions on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz pay-per-view fight.  Here’s a few of them:

Floyd Mayweather is the GOAT, Bring on Manny Pacquiao

You can’t deny that Mayweather is the best ever! Pacquiao is just a media hype that ESPN hypes up because they hate Floyd Mayweather. Victor Ortiz was far more dangerous of an opponent than Pacquiao will ever be for Floyd. Message to Bob Arum SPOT PROTECTING YOUR FIGHTER FROM MAYWEATHER!

The fight was garbage! Sergio Martinez is the real p4p king

We all knew that Victor Ortiz was no match for Floyd Mayweather Jr but this fight was like a WWE wrestling match, I was waiting for Floyd’s advisor Leonard Ellerbe to jump off the top rope on Ortiz while he was down from that sucker punch. Mayweather is not the best Sergio Martinez is number one and Manny Pacquiao is number two. Sergio has been calling Floyd out but we all know that the Pretty Boy is scared. Sergio Martinez is the real p4p king.

Floyd Mayweather’s Secret Technique

The secret of Mayweather is his elbow, similar to “bong sau” in Bruce lee’s wing chun blocking. Hold it down to punch. This block deflects punches, if the blocker’s elbow is at neck level, the opponent’s punch would go way above the blockers head. Hope every boxer knows this about Mayweather and try to break into this secret.

It’s not about the color of your skin

Why do people call racism for everything??? Mayweather was wrong and not because of the color of his skin. It’s his attitude. Even in boxing, you should have a level of respect for your opponents, announcers, etc. Larry Merchant was just doing his job and this punk decides to go thug in front of everyone. He’s responsible for his own actions. Nothing racial about it. And yes, Victor Ortiz head butt was wrong but at least he was a man about it and tried to apologize. The guy thought it was a time out. He was looking at the ref with his arms at his side. CHEAP SHOT! NO RESPECT for that. Mayweather is done! This and his fear of fighting Pacquiao are all he’ll be known for. Go cry to your mother! You deserve the bad publicity! Grrrrrrr. Get mad! Ha ha ha ha ha! FOOL!

Reason why Pacman will never beat Mayweather….

Manny Pacquiao will never defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr. Because Floyd Jr. will never never fight Pacquiao. Floyd Jr. is afraid of Pacquiao because Floyd knows that Pacquiao will destroy the coward inside the ring. Indeed, Floyd Jr. Will be known as the greatest coward in boxing history.

The Mayweather-Ortiz HBO PPV was an overpriced rip-off!

I’ve subscribed to HBO ppv in the past and resented their price for the event. It has been a complete rip-off. Now,..they’ve “upped the anti” to $ 59.95 for the above fight and that is totally obscene. I guess the old adage is true,…”Nothing breed’s greed like greed itself.” I will “never” subscribe to another HBO ppv event.

Many Thank’s,…

Money May keeping it real

Forget the haters Floyd, just do what you do best, and make that money and let the haters hate. They never will give you your props because they hate seeing a black man shine. Manny Pacquiao can get it if he want it but that boy gotta take the test. Pacquiao is the real ducker, quack, quack, thats Manny Pacquiao aka the Quackman.
