Mayweather vs. Ortiz is more credible than Pacquiao vs. Marquez

The biggest fight of the year is coming up on Saturday Sept. 17, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz, the two best welterweights in the world, and this fight is going to do the biggest numbers of the year well over 1.5 million pay-per-view buys.

What makes Mayweather vs. Ortiz credible is the fact that Mayweather the best in the world is fighting and his opponent Victor Ortiz is the WBC champion coming off the biggest win of his career against Andre Berto.

Anytime Floyd Mayweather fights he fights the best, it’s an event, the big name celebs tune in and and the people who want to see him lose tune in. This is the event to spend your money on not Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez III.

No offense to Marquez but he is a shell of himself and will be too slow above 140 pounds. Manny Pacquiao again fights a handpicked opponent, past his prime, and at a catch weight so he can have all the advantages.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez is not a credible fight. It would have been credible 3 years ago and at 135 pounds where it would be fair and closer to Marquez’s natural weight. Manny Pacquiao the most exciting boxer in the world? yeah right. Remember the Shane Mosley fight and how everyone was booing? or when Pacquiao fought Joshua Clottey another boring non event? Never forget these fights when deciding which fight to order and always remember you spent over $50 for Pacquiao mismatches that turned out to be snooze fests.

The real complete package is Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., you get your moneys worth with him.  Also the Mayweather-Ortiz undercard features Latino boxing stars Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Erik Morales, and top prospect Jessie Vargas. To be honest, if I had one fight to watch this year it would be Mayweather vs. Ortiz because anytime you watch Floyd fight you are witnessing history, the Michael Jordan of boxing, and his opponent Victor Ortiz has a better chance of pulling off the upset than Manny Pacquiao does. True fans know whats up, and will tune in.
