UFC Fight Night 25: Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger is the seventh Ultimate Fighting Championship event held in Louisiana. The event takes place on September 17, 2011 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Lousiana and will be broadcast on Spike TV with 8 Free prelim bouts on UFC’s official Facebook stream at www.facebook.com/UFC.
This is Jake Shields first fight since losing to current UFC welterweight champion Georges St.-Pierre at UFC 129. Shields vs. Ellenberger was scheduled to be the first UFC non-title main event to implement 5 rounds, but later it was changed to 3 rounds. This UFC event will be one of the last events televised on Spike TV since UFC has signed with FOX and UFC’s contract deal with Spike expires at the end of the year.
