The official weigh in event for UFC on FOX: “Velasquez vs. Dos Santos” heavyweight championship bout takes place on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California.
This is a monumental event for the sport of mixed martial arts and for the Ultimate Fighting Championship because for the first time in UFC history a UFC heavyweight title fight will be aired for free on FOX network TV. Anyone with a TV can watch the Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos title fight without having to pay for pay-per-view or basic cable. Championship fights like this haven’t been done since the glory days of heavyweight boxing.
