Showtime presents the Super Six World Boxing Classic championship final between WBA 168-pound champion Andre Ward and WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch on Saturday December 17, 2011 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO s) of Nottingham, England is out to prove that he is the best super middleweight boxer in the world and in order to do that he must defeat the odds favorite Andre Ward in the Super Six final. Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KOs) of Oakland, California is an undefeated Olympic gold medalist and many boxing analysts consider him one of the best young American boxers alongside Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Timothy Bradley. Ward and Froch have shown that they are the two best super middleweights in the world by advancing to the final stage of the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament and tonight both champions will be fighting for the vacant The Ring super middleweight title usually given to the top guy in the division.
