Showtime Championship boxing presents a double bantamweight title fight double-header, WBA super bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno (31-1-1) vs. Vic Darchinyan (37-3-0), and IBF bantamweight champion Abner Mares (22-0-1) vs. Joseph Agbeko (28-3-0 in a rematch live from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Earlier in the year, IBF champion Abner Mares fought Joseph Agbeko in what many believe was a foul ridding dirty fight on Mares end. Agbeko was hit with several clear low blows which the referee Russell Mora failed to notice and many watching the fight felt the referee wasn’t doing his job and that Abner Mares should have been disqualified for the number of low blows he landed on Agbeko. Mares to this day claims the low blows were all unintentional and granted Agbeko a rematch to prove that he isn’t a dirty fighter and can win a clean fight against Agbeko.
Vic Darchinyan is known as the raging bull because of his heavy handed bullish style and he is looking to take Anselmo Moreno’s WBA title away from him in spectacular fashion on Saturday night, but Moreno isn’t scared and doesn’t feel Darchinyan can beat him.
