Showtime presents Strikeforce MMA: Gilbert Melendez vs. Jorge Masvidal lightweight championship fight. The Strikeforce mixed martial arts event will take place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California on Saturday December 17, 2011 and televised on Showtime.
The Strikeforce event will feature two championship bouts, the main event will be a lightweight title bout between champion Gilbert Melendez and challenger Jorge Masvidal. The co-main event will be a women’s featherweight title bout between champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and challenger Hiroko Yamanaka.
Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal will air right after the Showtime super middleweight championship boxing match Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch on the same channel.
