Boycott Pacquiao and Arum if they don’t give us the Mayweather fight

A lot of casual boxing fans were thinking it was Floyd Mayweather Jr. holding up the super-fight with Manny Pacquiao but from the looks of it, it was Bob Arum preventing the fight from being made.

I’ve been calling for a boycott of Manny Pacquiao fights not because I don’t like the Pacman but because I am just fed up with all the BS going on with Bob Arum milking Pacquiao for all he is worth and not giving us the fight we want to see. As a paying customer we deserve so much more, and I hope Pacman fans will agree that they are tired of spending their money on Pay-per-views against guys not named Mayweather. I hope Manny finally man’s up and insists that he wants the Mayweather fight and nobody else.

Nobody wanted to see Manny fight Joshua Clottey, Shane Mosley, or Antonio Margarito and after seeing Pacquiao nearly lose to an aging Juan Manuel Marquez nobody wants to see that for a fourth time, well not until we get the fight the fans have been craving for close to 3 years now.

I think if there is a time for a legit boycott now is the time. Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa allowed Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight on May 5, 2012 and report to jail in June to serve his 90-day sentence after he fulfills his contractual obligations, and when Bob Arum heard of the news he wasn’t too happy. Before he said Manny could fight in May or June and now he is saying Pacquiao cannot fight in May because of a cut, yet he was willing and ready to let Manny fight in early May when he found out that Floyd would be serving a 90 day sentence starting in January.

Its clear now that Bob Arum doesn’t want the fight. Mayweather is ready and willing to fight Pacquiao and Arum is trapped in a corner after his contradictions were exposed and he is reportedly offering up 4 opponents to Manny Pacquiao when he travels to the Philippines and Mayweather is not one of them. All opponent options are basically free agents or linked to Arum so he can enjoy a huge share of revenue compared to co-promoting. A fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez who left Golden Boy promotions, Timothy Bradley who is under Top Rank, a rematch with Miguel Cotto who is under Top Rank, and Lamont Peterson who Arum has worked with in the past. There is no mention of a fight with the winner of Andre Berto vs. Victor Ortiz II, because both guys are promoted by other promoters and Arum doesn’t want to split the mega revenue anytime Pacman fights, he wants to keep it all to himself by keeping it in house. The fans suffer but Arum doesn’t seem to care, he wants to get away with milking Pacman. The fans need to do a boycott to protest this, that is the only way our voices can be heard, we work hard and we are tired of spending our hard earned money on fights we don’t want to see. So unless Manny Pacquiao fights Mayweather, I suggest you guys save your money.
