The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Australia for the third time and will be televised for the second time on FX with UFC on FX 2: Thiago Alves vs. Martin Kampmann live Friday March 2, 2012 at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia.
This UFC event will be unique because it will include the semifinals of the UFC’s flyweight tournament with the match ups being Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall and Joseph Benavidez vs. Yashuhiro Urushitani, the winners tonight will go on to the flyweight tournament final and fight for the UFC flyweight belt and make history as the first UFC flyweight champion.
The main event will feature two of the UFC’s best welterweights Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann in a fight that has the makings of a great technical stand up war.
