Former super middleweight boxing champion Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33 KOs) of Denmark will make his light heavyweight debut on May 19 against American Allan Green (31-3, 21 KOs) in Parken, Copenhagen, Denmark, the fight will be 12 rounds for the vacant WBC Silver light heavyweight title.
Both Kessler and Green campaigned at 168 pounds and participated in the Super Six World Boxing Classic but fell short, now they want to rejuvenate their career’s at 175-pounds. For Kessler it was tough going from the favorite to win the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament to getting beat by WBA champion Andre Ward in the first round, but he later bounced back with a win over Carl Froch, and was scheduled to fight Allan Green in the tournament but had to pull out due to an eye injury. Froch went on to face Ward in the Super Six finals, and Ward went onto win the tournament beating Froch by decision. Allan Green was knocked out by Glen Johnson in the 8th round and lost to Andre Ward by decision during the tournament, since then he has been on a two fight win streak.
