PUNTERS BACK FROCH TO KO MACK

November 16, 2012 By NB News Leave a Comment

CARL FROCH looks set to successfully defend his IBF super-middleweight strap by defeating Yusef Mack with a knockout blow in Nottingham on Saturday night, according to the betting on Betfair. The champion is the odds-on favourite at 1-4 for victory by KO in his hometown, having destroyed Lucian Bute in the same devastating fashion last May.

Punters on the betting exchange don’t fancy Mack’s chances of causing an upset at the Capital FM Arena. The American boasts 17 KOs on his record, but odds of 20-1 suggest that Mack will struggle to upend his opponent.

Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “The signs point to a Froch win on Saturday night; the champ is a massive favourite to retain his title. No disrespect to Mack, but Froch has proved himself against a higher pedigree of opponent than Mack. Our customers expect Froch to make light work of him this weekend.”

Carl Froch v Yusef Mack – Betfair bet: 1-14 Froch, 15-1 Mack, 84-1 the draw

Method of victory – Betfair bet: 1-4 Froch KO, 5-1 Froch decision, 20-1 Mack KO, 31-1 Mack decision
