HBO Boxing After Dark presents a double-header broadcast from the Wynn Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada headlined by a junior middleweight bout Vanes Martirosyan vs. Erislandy Lara and co-headlined by a super featherweight bout Mikey Garcia vs. Jonathan Barros.
Vanes Martirosyan (32-0, 20 KOs) is a former US Olympian for the 2004 team, and a protege of legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach, who currently works with Manny Pacquiao. Martirosyan is one of the top prospects in boxing and he will take on his toughest test when he fights one of the most avoided boxers in the junior middleweight division in Cuban Erislandy Lara (17-1-1, 11 KOs).
Mikey Garcia (29-0, 25 KOs) is part of the famous Garcia boxing family of Oxnard, California, his brother and trainer Robert Garcia was a former Champion, and is one of the hottest trainers in boxing, they were both trained by their father Eduardo Garcia best known for guiding the career of Fernando Vargas. Garcia is looking to bigger fighters against the likes of undefeated Cuban Yuriorkis Gamboa, but first he must win against tough Argentinean Jonathan Barros (34-3-1).
