Heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 51 KOs) will defend his IBF, WBA, IBO, WBO and Ring Magazine titles against Italian undefeated 28 year old challenger Francesco Pianeta (28-0, 15 KOs) on May 4th at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany.
Klitschko is the heavy betting favorite to win on Saturday night, and Pianeta a cancer survivor will attempt to pull off an upset. The two combatants are of similar size, Wladimir Klitschko is 6 foot 6 and Francesco Pianeta is 6 foot 5, Klitschko is orthodox, while Pianeta is a southpaw. This will be the toughest challenger of Pianeta’s career his two biggest wins in 10 round decisions against aging heavyweights Frans Botha and former champion Oliver McCall.
