HBO Boxing After Dark will be in Dallas, Texas to broadcast the Mikey Garcia vs. Juan Manuel Lopez and Terence Crawford vs. Alejandro Sanabria double header on June 15 at the American Airlines Center.
In a disappointing turn of events, Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26 KOs) the WBO champion and headliner of the event failed to make the 126-pound weight limit to defend his title, he was fined and stripped of his title on the scale so the WBO featherweight belt is vacant, if Mikey wins he will not be able to keep his belt since he failed to make weight only Juan Manuel Lopez (33-2, 30 KOs) will be able to capture the vacant belt should he win on Saturday night.
Garcia and JuanMa both fought the tough Mexican veteran Orlando Salido, Garcia won the WBO title from Salido while JuanMa lost twice by TKO to Salido. This is a tough test for Garcia and a crossroads fight for Lopez.
The opening bout will feature undefeated American lightweight Terence Crawford (20-0, 15 KOs) versus the hard hitting Mexican puncher Alejandro Sanabria (34-1-1, 25 KOs) in a 10-round non title fight.
