Team Khan dispels recent reports of a Floyd Mayweather showdown in May

October 2, 2013 By NB News Leave a Comment

News around the boxing world have people talking about an already confirmed pay-per-view event between the biggest draw in boxing Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and former junior welterweight champion Amir “King” Khan, but Team Khan has denied any claim that their fighter has secured the fight.

The following is a statement released by British boxer Amir Khan’s team concerning the rumors and reports going around the internet of a super fight between him and undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May:

Team Khan would like to dispel recent reports that Amir Khan has pulled out of a potential match-up against Devon Alexander on December 7th, taking up a fight against Floyd Mayweather in May of next year instead.

Contrary to this story, Amir Khan is currently in training camp in San Francisco with the aim of fighting again in December against Alexander once an agreement can be reached.
