Showtime Championship Boxing will be at the DC Armory in Washington, DC on January 25 to broadcast a double header event featuring the return of DC’s own Lamont Peterson against Dierry Jean for the IBF junior welterweight title, and a junior middleweight bout between undefeated Jermell Charlo and Gabriel Rosado.
IBF champion Lamont Peterson had his ups and downs from testing positive for performance enhancing drugs, to being knocked out in his last fight by Lucas Matthysse. He is looking to bounce back with a title defense against undefeated Canadian boxer Dierry Jean.
Jermell Charlo is a hot junior middleweight prospect out of Texas, he will be in against his toughest test to date, the game Gabriel Rosado who has shown big heart in defeat against the likes of middleweight champions Gennady Golovkin and Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin. This will be his return to the 154-pound division.
