Mayweather claims Pacquiao wants to fight him to help solve his tax problem

January 15, 2014 By NB News Leave a Comment

Undefeated world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. talked to the media upon his arrival in South Africa, and one of the topics that was brought up was a possible super fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather didn’t show much interest in the fight, he felt Pacquiao had his chance and blew it and now only wants to fight him because he is desperate for a big money payday to resolve his tax problems.

“I offered Manny Pacquiao the fight before, we didn’t see eye to eye on terms as far as random blood and urine testing years later we come back and try to make the fight happen again, I offered him 40 million, he said he wanted 50-50 so we didn’t make the fight happen,” Mayweather told media in South Africa.

“Manny Pacquiao all of a sudden he loses to Timothy Bradley he loses to (Juan Manuel) Marquez which is a guy that I beat, he has tax problems now, two losses and tax problems later now all of a sudden he will do anything to make the fight happen. What he is really saying is Floyd can you help me solve my tax problems to get me out of debt. He is with bob arum and I’m under my own banner which is Mayweather promotions, so, you know if I’m keeping 100 percent of the revenue why would I split?”
