Women’s Bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is set to defend her UFC title against former Olympian and wrestling phenom Sara McMann at UFC 170 live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 22.
Rousey is the biggest star in all of women’s MMA and according to UFC president Dana White, she is the biggest star male or female in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Her good looks and ferocious fighting style has given her opportunities in Hollywood landing huge movie roles in Expendables 3 with Sylvester Stallone and Fast and Furious 7 with Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker and The Rock. She joins former female fighter Gina Carano has a successful crossover superstar going from MMA to Movies.
McMann is a humble and down to earth competitor, she credits wrestling for helping her cope with her brothers death and is one of the best female American wrestlers in the world. Being an underdog only makes McMann hungry to prove the critics wrong and pull off the upset over Rousey to win the title.
Also on the UFC 170 card are Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins, Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia, Mike Pyle vs. TJ Waldburger, and Robert Whittaker vs. Stephen Thompson.
