Battle at the Boat 105 Set for March 26

March 11, 2016 By NB News

TACOMA, Wash. – Knockout specialist Dionisio Miranda will square off against Andrew Hernandez in the main event of Battle at the Boat 105 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash. on Saturday, March 26.

Presented by Brian Halquist Productions, Battle at the Boat 105 will have six bouts with Miranda and Hernandez headlining the card in a 10-round super middleweight matchup.

Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticket Master Outlets. Preliminary bouts start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Miranda, a former NABA and WBC Continental Americas middleweight title holder, is 22-14-2 with 19 KOs and holds a victory over Lajuan Simon, who once challenged Arthur Abraham for the IBF World middleweight title.

Simon lost to Abraham, the world’s current top-ranked super middleweight, in 2009 by unanimous decision. Miranda defeated Simon for the WBC Continental Americas middleweight title in 2010.

Hernandez (10-4-1, 2 KOs) has built a strong reputation as a fighter who is willing to step in between the ropes against anyone, as evidenced by his last four opponents who had a combined record of 51-3-1 (93% winning record) at the time of their bouts.

Hernandez’s most impressive victory came on Nov. 7, 2015 when he knocked out Jeff Page, Jr. to capture the Universal Boxing Federation Intercontinental super middleweight title. Page entered the title fight with a record of 17-1-0 with his only prior defeat coming against top-10 ranked Artur Beterbiev in a contest for the WBA-NABA, NABO and IBF North American light heavyweight championship.

“Miranda and Hernandez are fighters in every sense of the word. They will battle with anyone and if you look through their resumes they have been in the ring with several world-class boxers,” promoter Brian Halquist said. “It’s going to be a thrilling main event between two guys who don’t back down.”

Highlighting the undercard will be a semi-main event between undefeated Isaac Tadeo and Chad McKinney at 155 pounds. Tadeo brings a perfect 6-0-0 record into the bout.
